Hey everyone,

My dog Rocky loves to chew, and I mean loves. Store-bought toys barely last a day before he tears them apart, so I’ve been thinking about making some DIY toys for him that might hold up a little better.

Have any of you tried making your own dog toys? I’m looking for ideas that are tough enough for a Lab mix who doesn’t know his own strength. I’ve got a few materials lying around (rope, fabric scraps, PVC pipe) and I’m not afraid to get creative.

Would love to hear what’s worked for your dogs!

Cheers,
Dave

Hey Dave! With Rocky’s strong chewing, you’re definitely going to need something tough. For Diesel, I’ve found that thick rope toys or rubber chew toys like the KONG Extreme are the best bet. They hold up well to a Rottweiler’s powerful jaws. If you’re feeling creative, you could also use fire hose material..those are tough enough for large breeds with strong bites!
