About these terms
Barklopedia (barklopedia.com) is run by Hannah Wilson, based in Spain. By using the site you agree to these terms and our house rules. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your information.
Your account
- You need to be 16 or over to join.
- One account per person. Use an email address that’s yours, because anyone who can read that inbox can log in as you.
- Joining and using Barklopedia is free.
What you post
- Follow the house rules. You’re responsible for what you post.
- Only post words and photos that are yours, or that you have permission to share.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to store it, show it on Barklopedia, and fit it to the page (for example, resizing photos). This permission ends when you delete it, apart from backup copies, which are replaced within 30 days, and replies from other members that quote you.
- To keep spam out, a moderator checks some posts before they appear, including every new member’s first post, and links can be added once three of your posts are approved.
- Moderators can edit, hide or remove posts, lock threads, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the house rules.
Community starter accounts
Some conversations on the forum were started by community starter accounts, which Barklopedia runs to get discussions going. They’re marked “A community starter account” next to the name.
Advice on the forum
Members and trainers share what’s worked for them. It isn’t professional veterinary, medical or legal advice, and every dog is different. If your dog is unwell, hurt or in danger, contact a vet straight away.
The trainer directory and Bark Score
- Listings are built from information trainers publish themselves, and it may be out of date. Check details with the trainer before you book.
- The Bark Score is our opinion, worked out the same way for every trainer using the published methodology. It isn’t a guarantee, a certification or an endorsement.
- Nobody can pay for a higher score or a better place in the lists.
- Any arrangement you make with a trainer is between you and them.
- Trainers can claim their listing, add a short note (published once we’ve approved it) and send corrections. How that works.
Links to other websites
We link to trainers’ websites and other sites we think are useful. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for what they say or do.
What we’re responsible for
We work hard to keep Barklopedia accurate, friendly and online, but we provide it as it is, and we can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. We’re not responsible for what members, trainers or other websites say or do. Nothing in these terms limits anything we’re responsible for by law that can’t be limited.
Leaving
You can stop using Barklopedia at any time. To close your account, email hannah@barklopedia.com from the address on your account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and email members before big changes. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Spain, and its courts deal with any disputes. If you live somewhere with consumer rights these terms can’t take away, you keep them.
