Hey folks,

My dog has started digging up the backyard. I’ve tried a few things, like redirecting his attention, but it seems to be a habit that’s hard to break. I know some dogs dig because they’re bored or anxious, and I don’t want this to become a bigger issue..

Any practical tips for dealing with digging? I’m thinking of building him a designated digging spot or maybe using some sort of deterrent?

Appreciate the help!

Greg

I can tell you what doesn't work! I bought multiple pieces of concrete edging/pavers off Facebook and put them in my shrub beds where our pups were digging. No help! Suggestions?

@elene12 You might have already tried this but with my dog we 'gave him' somewhere else to dig. It is an area with loose dirt and I try to encourage him to use that area instead.
