Multi dog insurance
Got more than one dog to insure? Most UK insurers will give you a discount for covering them together, and some let you put all your pets on the same policy, with one renewal date and one payment. The discounts work in different ways, though: a percentage off, a fixed amount off, or a discount that only lasts for the first year. Here's what each insurer offers, and a quick way to see what it could save you.
How much could a multi-pet discount save you?
Put in how many dogs you're insuring and the monthly price you've been quoted for each one. The chart shows the most each insurer's discount could take off a year's cover. It's a guide to the discount only, not a quote: each insurer prices your dogs differently.
We've started with an example of £30 a month per dog. Change it to your own quote.
"Up to" because some insurers don't say whether the discount applies to your first pet as well; we've assumed it does unless they say otherwise. First-year discounts may not carry on after renewal. 2 insurers we checked give no multi-pet discount, so they aren't on the chart.

Your questions answered
How do I compare pet insurance for 2 dogs?
Get a quote for both dogs from each insurer, with the multi-pet discount applied, and compare the total for a year. Check whether the discount lasts: Direct Line's and Churchill's are for the first year only. Then compare the cover itself, especially the yearly vet fee limit and the co-payment as your dogs get older, because those affect you far more than the discount.
Which insurers don't give a multi-pet discount?
Animal Friends and Waggel. Animal Friends says it doesn't offer deals or discounts so it can keep prices lower for everyone.
Can my dogs have different levels of cover?
Yes, with the insurers that say so on their multi-pet pages, including Petplan and Agria, you can choose a different level of cover for each pet.
Every discount is from the insurer's own website, read on 5 October 2026; each insurer's page links to the exact page. Discounts change and can depend on how you buy, so check before you buy. ManyPets isn’t included because its website asked us to verify we were human. Barklopedia doesn’t arrange UK insurance.
