Why does my dog skip meals but always eat treats?
Daisy pulled this on me last spring. Bowl sitting there full, she walks away. Five minutes later she's doing backflips for a milk bone.
Folks panic and run to the vet or switch to some fancy food. Sometimes yeah it's a real issue. But a lot of the time yall just got a dog that figured out if she holds out long enough something better shows up.
Beagles are real bad for this by the way. Buster knows exactly what he's doing.
Few things worth checking before you spiral. Is she acting normal otherwise, playful, drinking water, no weird stuff going on. Any change in the house lately, new schedule, new people. Sometimes that throws em off.
If she's skipping meals but chasing treats and acting fine, good chance you just got a holdout on your hands.
Anybody else been through this, and how'd you figure out if it was real pickiness or something actually worth worrying about?
